For those "Experts" on what makes a teacher I have some advice, be prepared to inform a class of 30 ten year old children that their classmate was hit by a car and killed the night before, and then be able to deal with the grief as well as your own. Be confident to ask a six foot fourteen year old angry boy for the knife that you have been told he has, and then watch him pull out a six inch dagger from his boot...put it on the desk.. and begin to cry. Know the right words to tell a child that her mother lost her battle with cancer and has died. Encourage a child with bruises to be truthful on how he got them... be prepared to comfort a child whose parent was arrested for domestic abuse.. and then continue teaching basics.
